Since my first job at the age of 15, I have worked in the hospitality field.  Upon graduating from Florida State University with a degree in Hospitality Administration, I began working as Assistant Manager for Ft. Devens Officer/NCO club.  During my tenure there, I was cross-trained in catering, management, military protocol and developing special events.

     A marriage and move to Charleston, South Carolina found my next job as Catering Director for a large downtown hotel.  Then a progression to hotel Sales Manager, and eventually Director of Sales.  During my tenure as Director of Sales, I also taught Hospitality Administration college level classes at both Trident Technical College and Johnson & Wales University. 

Why I began Square One Meeting Planning:

 I am a very detail oriented person and loved planning/developingmeetings. However, I began to realize that by remaining employed by one hotel, I was not able to provide a full range of services to potential clients.  I was limited to that one particular hotel, and not able to recommend venues or services that perhaps were better suited to a client’s needs.  It was this strong desire to be able to provide the BEST range of services to potential clients, putting THEIR NEEDS FIRST that ultimately gave me the confidence to start Square One Meeting Planning.

     I am proud to say that this strategy has led to continuous growth of new clients, primarily through referrals and word of mouth.  Square One Meeting Planning has never had to advertise!  What started as an idea to provide the best meeting planning services to clients in Charleston, has blossomed to a full-service company providing meeting and event planning services to numerous clients at venues throughout the United States.  What has NOT changed, however, is our commitment to provide the utmost of personal, professional service to our clients.
